Originally conceived by Robert F. Duncan in 1937, the Guide became an instant success, and it has remained in print ever since. The revised twelfth edition has been researched and written by Robert C. and Roger S. Duncan, grandson and great-grandson, respectively, of the Guide's originator. In addition, coauthor W. Wallace Fenn's son, Paul Fenn, has assisted in updating coverage of Long Island Sound north and east to Cape Code Canal. All the authors -- who know these storied cruising grounds as old friends -- relate the histories of the towns, ports, vessels, lighthouse, and even rocks they've encountered. Robert C. Duncan Robert has cruised extensively throughout the New England and Maritime Canadian coasts with his father, Roger F. Duncan, coauthor of the fifth through eleventh editions of the guide. Roger S. Duncan Robert's son, Roger coauthored those sections of the Guide that cover Cape Cod and the islands northeast to the Canadian border. Paul W. Fenn Paul is President of Jeanneau America, Inc., a subsidiary of the French boatbuilder, and makes his home in Annapolis, Maryland. He grew up cruising the waters from Noank, CT to Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket, and eastward. W. Wallace Fenn Wallace is a longtime co-author of the Guide, has visited in his small sloop almost every harbor from Rye, New York, eastward to Narragansett Bay. |
